I think its fair to say that the East London market has come a very long way in the 30 plus years I've been giving local property advice. The transformation has been spectacular to say the least and I am proud that we have played our part in this local revolution.
It’s not so long ago that East London was seen as a very deprived part of London which is totally contradictory to the cool chic image it is fast attracting. From the Olympic Park to Westfield to Silvertown Quay and Crossrail, East London continues to be one of Europe’s fastest growing regions and mostly heavily invested into. With an estimated £20Bn being spent in our area over the next 15 years, East London continues to be a leading light in transport links, cultural projects, numerous new residential schemes and untold employment and wealth creation opportunities. I often joke with my clients and colleagues, that if I had the chance to work anywhere in the World (including Monaco or the Bahamas !!!) I’d choose to stay right here in East London.
So what does the future hold? Although prices have escalated significantly, our area remains one of London’s most affordable. It is without doubt best placed to continue that growth and evident by the fact the fact that London’s population continues to move East. We expect more growth as one travels further East with the Royal Docks and the Thames estuary becoming a major focus of regeneration.
It’s all about regeneration. The under investment that East London has been historically subjected to is changing daily. The local populous now enjoy better facilities and in time, a better standard of living. We have been very active proponents of these changes and welcome the focus our area is now earning.
