is widely considered to be the centre and the main focal point of the ever changing face of East London.
On the 6th July 2005 an announcement was made that would change Stratford and, more importantly Newham forever. The International Olympic Committee decided that London would host the 2012 Olympic Games and that Stratford would be home to the Olympic Stadium and many other venues within the games. This, together with Statford City, was the catalyst to start the regeneration that this inner city suburb has much needed.
From 2010 CTRL (Channel Tunnel Rail Link) named High Speed one, will be fully operational out of Stratford International Station, this will give people the opportunity to travel to Paris, France in under two hours.
As well as the Olympic infrastructure and CTRL, Stratford City is on course to be completed in 2020. There will be a new financial district, shopping centre (with John Lewis and Marks & Spencer as flagships), hotels, restaurants, 4500 new homes and commercial space, creating Britain’s largest regeneration scheme.
The London Boroughs of Newham and Tower Hamlets are areas that have seen the demand for property almost double in recent years. Whether it be investors, purchasers or tenants, being part of this area has become extremely desirable and has made the world's eye focus on Stratford and ensured its an enviable place to live.
