The Sellers Personal View.
My dream had always been to live in a double fronted Victorian house with an open fire. With my third child just a few months old, the search for a larger house but staying within the borough got underway. As soon as I saw details I knew that it was the house I wanted. We moved November 2000.
The potential for the house was immediately obvious it had all the character of a spacious Victorian house, but more grand than many of the houses in Crescent Road. I later found out that it was the builder's own home back in 1885 and therefore had many features specially for the builder and his family to enjoy.
Other than the character and spacious feel of the house and the various rooms fitting for a family of five, as a professional freelance musician being semi-detached and at the end of terrace we had the perfect music room.
In addition to the existing bedrooms we extended into the attic creating another bedroom and a fabulous office for me to run my business and enjoy a wonderful view, as there are no buildings opposite. There is also a garage for storage while not having to compromise off street parking. The garden front and back have been professionally maintained and are not overlooked and therefore has given us a really private and peaceful green space to enjoy, even in the winter months! Having an open fire which we enjoy right throughout the winter months, we have a coal bunker and wood shed while super convenient, has not compromised space.
Transport is brilliant and with the Olympic park expanding into a centre for the arts plus all the shopping and amenities it has been a perfect location. I am personally always nervous about external noise, but it is really peaceful.
The children are now longer children and have left home. So time to move forward and leave this house which has been such a wonderful and loved home for the last twenty years to be enjoyed by a new family.
The house has been in every sense a warm and wonderful home for us.
